Another Celebration, with “One Special Day” For Kwalee & SpecialEffect!

One Special Day

UPDATE: Thanks to all our supporters for the help, SpecialEffect raised £115,517! Stay up to date with what’s happening at Kwalee through our social media channels. (TikTok | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram | LinkedIn)

ORIGINAL STORY:

If it was a special day — a really special one at that — what would you do? On 1st October 2021, the UK-based charity SpecialEffect is hosting One Special Day, and we’re grabbing the opportunity to pitch our efforts in!

Throughout the day, the games industry and its studios are encouraged to donate a portion of their day’s revenues in support of bringing more accessibility options for people with disabilities to experience great games. The charity event has been uniting the games industry for this brilliant cause since 2016.

So we at Kwalee are again offering our hand to SpecialEffect — the first time since last year — pledging the UK profits from three of our biggest games: the juggernaut that is Draw It, and two of our most successful releases from 2020, Bake It and Line Up: Draw the Criminal!

These three games boast more than 170 million downloads between them, with Draw It being the colossal performer at over 97 million downloads. That’s an increase of 50 million downloads (30%) across all three games since this time last year, so they’re showing no signs of slowing down! We are hopeful that this will significantly impact SpecialEffect’s push for driving accessibility in video games.

We’re doing our bit to help SpecialEffect reach the $500,000 goal, and you can help us get there. If you’re based in the UK, download and play Draw It, Bake It, and Line Up on your smartphones on the 1st of October.

Gaming enthusiasts can grab some extra games by checking out other participating titles from other great developers and continue supporting the charity. Or show your support for the cause directly!
