Portugal – Kwalee’s New Studio is Here!

Hello there! I’m Pedro, CTO of Kwalee, and I’m very excited to share the news that we now have a new office in Portugal.

Located right alongside the beautiful Tagus River in the city of Almada, in the metropolitan area of Lisboa, our fourth new studio marks Kwalee’s official debut in mainland Europe.

As a native of this city, I feel proud to see how it’s brimming with talents from various tech universities and colleges. With the startup culture picking up so fast here, we fully believe that this is the place for us to break new ground in tech to cement our status as the world’s best mobile games publisher.

So what does that mean for our Kwalee Portugal office? Simply, this will be the company’s main ‘tech hub’. Right here in Almada, we’ll be on the cutting edge of Kwalee’s Research and Development efforts and offering exciting opportunities to tackle wholly new challenges relating to game marketing and publishing. 

I’ll be manning the fort at Kwalee Portugal, working with our fellow studios in the UK, India and China – plus all of our remote team members globally.

We believe establishing a studio here can dramatically extend our development, technical and technological support to developers globally, and help them get closer to achieving commercial success with their games.

Those who join us here will be at the heart of our technical offering as a publisher, helping to support developers from all around the world – and, of course, our internal teams – to bring their games to millions of players globally. But as I can vouch for firsthand, they’ll also enjoy a great quality of life with stunning beaches, bars and parks easily accessible from our office.

It’s a great time to join us at Kwalee. In 2022 we’ve already seen the acquisition of Tictales, our successful launch of Airport Security (among the top-10 most downloaded games on Google Play in February) and we’ve been named Best Publisher at the Mobile Games Awards.
